Toronto, ON — May 25, 2026 — WIFT+ Toronto is proud to announce the launch of its new Women in VFX & Post-Production Mentorship Program, supported by Amazon MGM Studios’ Ascend Program. Thank you to Take 5 Productions and MR. X for their additional support. This initiative will provide accessible professional development opportunities for six mid-career participants seeking to deepen their experience in visual effects and post-production.

Designed as WIFT+ Toronto’s most comprehensive professional development and mentorship initiative to date, the program features:

  • A week-long, in-class intensive from July 15–21, 2026, featuring workshops and panels led by studio executives and industry leaders;
  • Followed by internship(s) of up to 3 months, where participants will gain real-world experience across the VFX and post-production landscape under the mentorship of industry professionals; and
  • An honorarium, paid over the course of the work placement.

“This program is a huge step toward addressing the gender gap in VFX and post-production by creating access to mentorship, training, and paid industry experience. We’re proud to partner with Amazon MGM Studios’ Ascend Program, Take 5 Productions and MR. X  to support women in the field and build sustainable and successful careers in these highly specialized fields.”
