Program notes by WIFT-T Showcase Selection Committee member, Ashley Catania.
Touching on themes of identity, community and friendship, Lisa Rideout invites us into the lives of a special place and those within it. Important for its representation and first-hand storytelling from a lesser-known group, Store owner Paddy’s enduring welcome and her warm, inviting relationships speaks to the importance of connection and community. Watching each unique customer explore their individuality and self-expression is a beautiful reminder to be true to who you are and to surround yourself with people who celebrate that in us, whatever it may be.
