The 2-day Production Accounting Intensive workshop explores the role of the Production Accountant and their team within the accounting department. Afterwards, the 2-day Tax Credit Intensive workshop will explore the Production department's application for and management of different types of Tax Credits.

Participants must attend all 4 days of the Production Accounting + Tax Credits Intensive workshop to receive a Certificate of Completion from WIFT+ Toronto.
ELIGIBILITY
These programs are geared towards Emerging (5-10 years) and Experienced (10+ years) media professionals.
Participants are expected to have a working knowledge of production accounting and accounting terminology.
If you have previously taken the introductory Production Accounting & Tax Credits module of the Media Business Essentials program, these workshops are the next level.
Participants are expected to have access to Google Sheets for use during some exercises.

Production Accounting Intensive
Program Runs: Saturday, April 18, 2026 and Saturday, April 25, 2026 (9:30am - 4:30pm)
TAX CREDITS Intensive
Program Runs: Saturday, May 2, 2026 and Saturday, May 9, 2026 (9:30am - 4:30pm)
FEES
Production Accounting + Tax Credits (Bundle) for Members: $600 (+ HST)
Production Accounting + Tax Credits (Bundle) for Non-Members: $750 (+ HST)
One (1) scholarship is available to cover program fees for a participant in this Bundle program thanks to support from the Foundation for WIFT+ Toronto. Scholarships are open to both WIFT+ Toronto members and non-members alike. The scholarship application deadline is Thursday, April 2, 2026 (11:59pm EDT).

PRODUCTION ACCOUNTING INTENSIVE
Instructor: Sasha Boersma - Co-Founder/Producer - Sticky Brain Studios
Sasha Boersma is Co-Founder/Producer of Sticky Brain Studios Inc., creating family-friendly interactive content and video games. Sasha was first introduced to accounting concepts during a summer job in a manufacturing company where her aptitude for organizing data was first tapped, and she worked for four years as a costing clerk. After she finished her applied degree in Radio and Television Arts at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), she worked as a Program Manager for a collection of private funding agencies for television and video games, where a former production manager taught her bookkeeping skills. She spent the next five years as an independent producer, where she held a series of roles in business affairs, and as an interactive producer, where she worked closely with the accounting and bookkeeping teams to track costs, manage cost reports, and prepare for project audits.

TAX CREDITS INTENSIVE
Instructor: Alicia Petrusa - Senior Relationship Manager, Media & Entertainment - RBC
Alicia Petrusa is a Senior Relationship Manager on the Media and Entertainment team at RBC with 15 years of industry experience in producing, business affairs, and financial management. Alicia’s expertise lies in handling the logistical and financial aspects of media projects, which includes interim financing, financial acumen, negotiations, contracting, foreign exchange solutions, and other key development and production tasks. She maintains a pivotal role in demystifying the financial aspects of media creation by bridging the gap between creative entrepreneurs and decision-making stakeholders. Through her producing experience, her credits include associate producer on CBC’s Street Legal, associate producer on the Radio-Canada documentary Hymne Migratoire, and business affairs manager on the CBC drama Diggstown. She previously served as Vice President - Program Advisory Committee for the Centennial College, Film & TV Business program, and is currently on the Board for the Black Screen Office (BSO) as a member of the BSO Finance Committee.
