COO, Digital Howard
Alex’s career spans over 25 years in Film and Television and now in Digital Media as the COO of leading 360 media production house; Digital Howard. Alex joined the Digital Howard team in 2015 to produce Terracosm, the AR/VR live action adventure game launching in Science Centre’s this year (2017). She became a permanent part of the DH team in August 2015 as Chief Operating Officer. Alex’s work includes CSA winning Wynonna Earp Digital as well as the many other innovative projects coming out of Digital Howard. Previously, Alex spent 5 years in the role of Executive in Charge of Production for First Generation Films acting as head of business affairs and Executive Producer on several films including Life, Regression, and The Whistleblower. Other organizations on her resume include the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, Telefilm Canada, the CMF and the Motion Picture Bond Company. Alex also sits on the WIFT-T Board of Directors and is the chair of WIFT-T’s charitable Foundation board.

Linda is responsible for the financial leadership of Spin Master’s Entertainment Division ensuring the smooth interface between the finance and production departments. Linda is tasked with maximizing all funding opportunities allowing for optimum paths for development, production, and exploitation of all Spin Master’s film and television assets. Prior to joining Spin Master, Linda was co-owner of an independent production company and an award winning Producer specializing in Lifestyle and Documentaries. Linda also enjoys instructing at the TV Arts Program at Humber College in Toronto and serves as the Treasurer for three not-for-profit organizations. Linda received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University and is a CPA, CMA.
Lawyer, Independent Business & Legal Affairs Consultant
Terry Markus is an independent consultant and lawyer providing business and legal affairs services to the entertainment, broadcasting and media industries. In addition, she co-produced the dramatic short, DNA, which premiered at TIFF in 2003, co-executive produced a feature-length theatrical film, Suck, which premiered at TIFF in 2009; executive produced a documentary short, Chasing the Lion, about Canadian triathlete Lionel Sanders which is doing the festival circuit; and, is executive producing a feature-length theatrical film Cold Strings.
A graduate of the University of Toronto and Queen’s University Law School, Terry started her legal career at a boutique entertainment law firm in Toronto, Ontario. She then worked in-house at the following companies holding various senior legal, business and regulatory affairs positions: Astral Media Inc. (now Bell Media Inc.); Alliance Communications Corporation’s broadcasting division (now Corus Entertainment Inc.); and, the Catalyst Entertainment Inc. (now CCI Entertainment Limited) and Gullane Entertainment PLC (now HIT Entertainment Limited) group of companies. In addition, while continuing her independent legal practice, Terry worked at the S-VOX Group of Companies (Vision TV, ONE: The Body Mind and Spirit Channel, JoyTV 10 and 11, and, until June 2009, The Christian Channel, now ZoomerMedia Limited) in the roles of Executive Vice-President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary.

As Vice President of Media for Universal Pictures, Tamara is responsible for all of the advertising and promotional initiatives for the studio’s releases in Canada. Past and current releases include Jurassic World, Fifty Shades of Grey, Get Out, Fate of the Furious 8, and Despicable Me 3. Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Tamara Shannon was Vice President of Marketing and Promotions at Entertainment One where she led the strategic marketing initiatives for a diverse group of studio and independent film product including The Twilight Saga, Beasts of the Southern Wild and Gnomeo and Juliet.
