Ontario Film and Television Tax Credits Demystified

Learn how to make the most out of film and television tax credits. The Business Officers who administer the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit (OFTTC) at the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) will help demystify the tax credit and help you determine how to maximize the bottom line before your production begins.

The Business Officers will discuss:

• How much the tax credit is
• What expenditures are eligible
• Who is eligible
• What types of production are eligible
• Rules surrounding the regional bonus
• Rules surrounding the 1st time producer bonus

Speakers:

Mark Sonnenberg has been an OMDC Business Officer for five years. He helped bring in $72 million dollars in tax credits and other Canadian film and TV agencies for Alliance Atlantis, and before that he worked with a number of independent production companies from Alberta & Ontario.

Mara Ravins has been an OMDC Business Officer two years. She has worked in the film industry for over 15 years, starting out as a production designer, then independent producer and director.
