Women Writers Workshop
Presented in partnership with NBC Universal and Telefilm Canada
The Women Writers Workshop is developed for emerging to intermediate women screenwriters who have a treatment or first draft. Writers will work toward the development of the next draft of a feature script. This workshop is designed to complement the material from part one of the Feature Film Writing Program.

Feature Film Writing Program
Presented in partnership with NBC Universal and Telefilm Canada
Register now for Part 2.
The Feature Film Writing Program is a two module program. The first module provides an introduction to the major elements of feature film screenwriting, including the development stages of a screenplay. The second module will provide an in-depth analysis of the major elements of feature film screenwriting. The workshop includes a complete critique of a single film. The second module can be taken individually.

Kodak New Vision Mentorship: Call for Applications
Presented in partnership with Kodak Canada Entertainment Imaging
This national initiative provides one Canadian female director with the invaluable opportunity to prepare for the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival (September 2008) through an intensive month of industry coaching and a TIFF bursary, followed by a two-month creative mentorship with an established director.
The 2008 Kodak New Vision Mentorship will include:
- $5,000 in-kind donation of Kodak Motion Picture film stock
- Preparation for the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival with a seasoned industry professional
- One-on-one, two-month post-TIFF mentorship with an established director
- Complimentary TIFF registration and access to professional seminars and training at the Festival
- Announcement of award winner at the WIFT-T reception at TIFF on September 11, 2008
- Award presentation at the Crystal Awards Gala Luncheon on December 1, 2008
Fully completed application packages must be submitted to
WIFT-T by July 21, 2008. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of industry representatives.

Canwest-Hot Docs Funds
Hot Docs and Canwest have partnered in the creation of the Canwest-Hot Docs Documentary Funds. These Funds consist of a three-million dollar completion fund and a one-million dollar development fund.
The Canwest-Hot Docs Completion Fund will provide up to $100,000 (limited to a maximum of 20% of a project’s budget) for production companies to complete specific projects. The Completion Fund is open to producers who have attracted demonstrated market interest in their documentaries. The Completion Fund will support up to nine projects per year.
The Canwest-Hot Docs Development Fund is a loan program designed to help producers get specific projects developed, researched, written and/or packaged and ready for market. The Fund will provide non-interest loans averaging between $10,000 - $15,000 in the early development stage. The Development Fund is expected to support a maximum of 12 projects per year.

Female Eye Festival: Open Call for Submissions
The 7th Annual Female Eye Film Festival is pleased to announce its open call for submissions. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their short or feature films for the early deadline of August 31, 2008; while screenwriters may submit their scripts for consideration as part of the Script Reading Series by October 31, 2008. The Script Reading Program is open to male applicants. The Festival will run March 26th – 29th at various cinemas and venues around Toronto.
The Female Eye Film Festival is Ontario's only annual international film festival for women directors. The accepted films and scripts are eligible for various awards.
