These innovators will share their expertise with independent media producers during the Corus Convergent Media Program, taking place October 31 – November 3 in downtown Toronto. Registration is open now!

Shelley Simmons

Transmedia Producer, Jam3
Shelley Simmons is an interactive producer and the Director of the Chocolate Liberation Front’s Toronto office. A strategic, technology-centric innovator, Shelley designs and produces compelling interactive experiences. Her independently-produced interactive film Meanwhile won Reflet d’Or for Best Interactive Multimedia Fiction at the Cinéma tous écrans in Geneva, Switzerland. She has worked with large commercial brands like Kraft and Lavalife as well as key media funders such as CMF, Bell Fund and OMDC.

Ana Serrano

Chief Digital Officer, Canadian Film Centre
As the CFC’s first Chief Digital Officer, Ana Serrano is responsible for creating a new business development strategy focused on a growing network of digital media partners, and for creating the digital strategy for all CFC program offerings. She has led the Centre’s shift from an analog/film platform to a digital/transmedia platform.

Aaron Williamson

Vice President, The Value Web
Aaron Williamson is a management consultant, designer, facilitator and Vice President of The Value Web, an international non-profit association that designs and delivers collaborative engagement for leaders and organizations around the world. His specialties include solution design, graphic facilitation, graphical modeling and workshop design. He is currently a faculty member for CFC Media Lab’s ideaBOOST Program.

Nathalie Clermont

Director of Program Management, Canada Media Fund
Nathalie Clermont has been active in the television and film industry for more than 20 years. Prior to joining the CMF in 2007, she spent 15 years at the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC), where she was the team leader of the Business Affairs Unit responsible for the Equity Investment Programs in Cinema and Television.

Anthea Foyer

Co-Organizer at Transmedia Toronto
Anthea Foyer is a “diginista,” who makes beautiful things using technology, and compelling narratives across platforms. She is an organizer, artist, curator, writer, schemer and an enthusiast of all strange and whimsical. Her creative practice is often focused on collaborative narratives, social issues, and the beauty and magic of our everyday lives. She believes that anything is possible when worlds collide. She has created, produced and advised on projects including graphic novels, online narratives, interactive installations, participatory theatre, multiplatform, TV and film convergence projects.

Julie Giles

Chief Madhatter, GreenHAT Digital
Julie Giles is Chief Madhatter at GreenHAT Digital, the only digital marketing agency that helps screen-based content producers find, build and maintain an engaged, powerful and profitable audience. Julie is a creative entrepreneur at heart, which means she values her clients’ dual business and creative goals. She has worked in every aspect of the screen-based industry—from film to web—and has a keen understanding of how on-demand viewing, video streaming and mobile technology are changing screen-based production.
