The final module in the WIFT-T Business Management for Media Professionals Program (BMMP) explores the role and responsibilities of the production accountant and staff. Participants follow a detailed analysis of the methods and procedures used by accountants working in various sectors of the screen-based industry.
Participants will acquire hard skills and analytical tools through a comprehensive review of bookkeeping and specifics for media production. The module explores budgets and cash flow and is intended to familiarize students with the statements and processes required to manage production accounting.
About the Instructor: John Gaskin has been touted as the “Billion Dollar Man” because the accumulated budgets that have been under his control have exceeded a billion dollars. Over the past 23 years, John has worked on 43 productions in five countries, working with such industry greats as Ron Howard, Frank Oz and Walter Salles, as well as on independent films and TV episodic productions, pilots and mini-series.
About the BMMP
The WIFT-T Business Management for Media Professionals Program is a certificate program, consisting of five individual modules, essential for producers and broadcast professionals who want to understand the business of production. It is recommended for working professionals with up to three years’ industry experience or related academic training, and for those transitioning to a new area of the business. Participants who complete all five modules receive a certificate from Humber School of Media Studies & Information Technology.
Fees and Registration
Participants may choose to complete the certificate program or register for individual modules. To register, please complete a Programming Registration Form. Maximum capacity for each module is 25.

Full Program
WIFT-T Members | $1,500 (+ HST)
Non-Members | $2,000 (+ HST)
