BMMP: Financing and Rights

The second module in the WIFT-T Business Management for Media Professionals Program (BMMP) focuses on public, private and alternate financing options, as well as the negotiation of broadcast and distribution agreements.

Downstream and alternate revenue streams are also explored, along with basic principles of contract, partnership, intellectual property, copyright law, commercial exploitation of rights and the need for expert support in these areas.

Recommended for those who want to enhance financial planning and budgetary skills in the independent production sector.

Please note: As with all modules in the BMMP Program, Financing and Rights is a three-class module. Subsequent class dates are: 

  • Saturday March 10th, 10AM – 3PM
  • Saturday March 17th, 10AM – 3PM

About the BMMP

The WIFT-T Business Management for Media Professionals Program is a certificate program, consisting of  five individual modules, essential for producers and broadcast professionals who want to understand the business of production. It is recommended for working professionals with up to three years’ industry experience or related academic training, and for those transitioning to a new area of the business. Participants who complete all five modules receive a certificate from Humber School of Media Studies & Information Technology.

Fees and Registration

While most registrants are completing the full certificate, registration for individual modules is also available. Those interested should contact Renée Robinson at rrobsinson@wift.com. Maximum capacity for each module is 25.
