WIFT-T announces winner of Deluxe Producer Internship
WIFT-T and Deluxe provide postproduction training for emerging female producer
WIFT-T is pleased to announce Marla Black as the winner of the 2011 Deluxe Producer Internship.
Black will receive a special presentation at the WIFT-T Reception at TIFF, taking place September 14 at Pinewood Toronto Studios.
Now in its fourth year, this national program provides one emerging female producer with hands-on training at the Deluxe Postproduction studios in Toronto.
“The Deluxe Producer Internship addresses a crucial training gap in the industry,” says Heather Webb, WIFT-T Executive Director. “With three projects in development, Marla Black will benefit immensely from learning the ins and outs of postproduction from some of the best in the business. WIFT-T is grateful for Deluxe’s continued support of this invaluable opportunity for women.”
Black will join Deluxe for a three-week internship commencing in November. She will shadow some of the company’s top Toronto-based executives and technical experts, learning about production equipment planning and requirements and postproduction video, film and sound.
“Deluxe is pleased to continue our role in support of this internship. We continue to be impressed with the candidates and appreciate the tough choice we have every year,” says Diane Cuthbert, VP Sales at Deluxe Postproduction. “We welcome Marla to our facility. We look forward to working with her over these intense and busy three weeks and know that her time in Postproduction will be a very productive investment in her career.”
