The CBC Business of Broadcasting Mentorship is a national competitive mentorship that gives one emerging Canadian female broadcasting professional the opportunity to experience a unique look at CBC Television from “behind the screen.”

Through a comprehensive week-long workshop, the winner learns about the production and broadcast components of dramatic content for multiple platforms and receives the opportunity to establish business and mentoring relationships with CBC drama staff. The mentorship takes place February 2012 at a designated CBC location in downtown Toronto.

The winner also receives a WIFT-T programming pass valued at $1,200 and a presentation at the 2011 Crystal Awards Gala Luncheon on Monday December 5. 

Eligibility

• Canadian Citizen, Landed Immigrant, or Permanent Resident
• WIFT-T member (may join at time of application)
• High potential contributor to the industry
• Emerging professional with 3-5 years’ industry experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Available to attend programming presented by WIFT-T
• Available to attend presentation ceremony at the 2011 Crystal Awards on December 5
• Able to re-locate to Toronto during time period of the mentorship at own expense
• Able to produce a final report upon completion of the mentorship

Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by WIFT-T staff and CBC representatives the week of November 7-11. The winner will be announced in November.
