Sunday October 23

CCMS Master Class | 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Open to all iWDMS delegates, the CCMS Master Class will explore strategies and processes for bridging film, television, online and mobile platforms. Participants receive an overview of the impact of digital technologies on the screen-based industry and gain insight into accessing funding and designing interactive project teams. Topics include: how knowledge of end-user practices is changing the content production process, how commissioning content has changed to include cross-platform strategies, and the emerging opportunities in mobile.

Opening Reception | 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Join fellow iWDMS delegates and presenters at the beautiful Festival Marquee Theatre for networking, refreshments and opening remarks. Cost of admittance is included in your registration. RSVPs are mandatory.

Monday October 24

Opening Keynote with Arianna Huffington | 9:00am – 10:30am 
All iWDMS delegates convene in the Main Hall for an inspirational keynote by Ms. Arianna Huffington, President and Editor-in-Chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, followed by an audience Q&A moderated by Diane Williamson, President of Digital Wizards Inc.    

Transmedia Digital Rights Management | 10:45am – 12:15pm
Learn how to strategically utilize chain of title, and examine effective tools for negotiating with stakeholders and suppliers. Saleable rights and new revenue streams for independent producers and broadcasters are also highlighted. Legal experts explain the difference between convergence and multi-platform media, ownership and copyright, and moral right and copyright, and outline key business and legal issues.

Keynote Luncheon with Sara Diamond | 12:15pm – 2:00pm
All iWDMS delegates enjoy a seated lunch in the Main Hall, followed by a keynote presentation by Sara Diamond, President of the Ontario College of Art & Design. Sara will be introduced by Karen Thorne-Stone, President & CEO of the Ontario Media Development Corporation.   

Ideas & Inspiration | 2:00pm – 2:30pm
Structured like TED talks, a single speaker has 20 minutes to present an idea, followed by a ten-minute Q&A session. Choose between The Digital Woman and Cyberhactivism.

Managing Interactive Projects | 2:45pm – 4:00pm
The production management process for film and television projects differs greatly from the production management process for digital and interactive projects. Explore best practices for integrating workflows and building successful project teams in order to streamline productivity and avoid costly production trial and error.

4:15pm – 5:45pm
CCMS participants are free to attend sessions of interest, including Beyond Primetime: The Battle of Push vs. Pull, New Media Literacies: The Role of Women in Creating Balances and Futures, and A New Creative Process?.

Welcome Cocktails & Dinner | 6:00pm – 9:00pm
All iWDMS delegates are welcome to attend cocktails and dinner at the Arden Park Hotel. Cost is included in your registration. The cocktail reception will run for one hour, giving delegates a chance to freshen-up in their rooms (book your accommodation with the Arden Park Hotel at a reduced rate! Call 1-877-788-8818). Please note RSVPs are mandatory.  

Tuesday October 25

Opening Keynote with Tom Perlmutter | 9:00am 9:30am
Delegates convene for a keynote presentation by Tom Perlmutter, Film Commissioner and Chair of the National Film Board of Canada.

Special Presentation: WIFT-T Industry Study | 9:30am – 10:30am
A showcase of key findings from WIFT-T’s 2011 Industry Study with experts weighing-in on policy and programming recommendations. How have emerging technologies impacted employment trends in Canadian screen-based industries? How does diversity in digital media compare to the traditional sector? What challenges do graduates and businesses face in a fragmented digital world?   

Distributing Digital Projects | 10:45am – 12:15pm
What makes a convergent project successful? Explore project marketability and the commissioning process for interactive projects. Participants assess their projects in light of digital distribution opportunities and learn how to integrate user-generated content into their project plan, while considering the potential effects on content valuation.

Networking Lunch | 12:15pm – 1:15pm
Enjoy an informal buffet lunch at one of several facilitated discussion tables—or refresh and recharge in peace. The choice is yours.

The Future of Transmedia Content | 1:15pm – 2:45pm
Open to all iWDMS delegates, this panel will explore the future of transmedia content—forward-facing and focused on innovation for businesses in digital media—while highlighting female-driven businesses and content creators.

2:45pm – 3:45pm
CCMS participants are free to attend sessions of interest. 

Digital Project Exhibit & Cocktails | 4:00pm – 5:15pm
And that’s a wrap! Join us in the Main Hall for cocktails and closing remarks against the backdrop of the Digital Project Exhibit. Need to hit the road? The conversation continues through Wink, the iWDMS’ online community and forum. All iWDMS delegates will receive access to select Summit content for a limited time through the social networking site.
