Goodmans Presents: Women on the Front Lines

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

Tuesday June 7 | 6:30PM – 9:00PM | NFB Cinema, 150 John Street

With only their cameras, laptops and fearless resolve, today’s foreign correspondents and documentarians brave the world’s worst conflict zones to deliver those hard-to-tell, and often, risky-to-uncover stories. The contributions of female investigative storytellers over decades of conflict have paved the way for a new generation of women—with a burning passion for justice, humanity and truth—to pursue careers in the field.

Join fellow WIFT-T members and our panel of experts to discuss the challenges and rewards of being a woman on the front line, and going where few dare to go, to bring stories of gross injustice and the harsh realities of conflict to the world’s attention.

The panel will be followed by a networking reception. Light refreshments will be provided.

Gillian Findlay, Host and Reporter, CBC’s The Fifth Estate
