REGISTRATION CLOSED. EVENT AT CAPACITY.
Imagination and entertainment go hand-in-hand; but when ideas run wild, so can the budget. Before the cameras even begin to roll, today’s feature film professionals ensure that what is described on the page will translate to the screen—and that everyone involved has the same expectations.
Previsualization is a process that generates preliminary versions of shots or sequences using 3D animation tools, such as motion capture and a virtual environment. The process engages directors, cinematographers, production designers and visual effects artists through both the technical and creative aspects of production planning—with cost savings as a benefit.
Presented by the Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT), this DigiScape session will provide an introduction to the technologies and workflows that are used by state-of-the-art productions. SIRT experts will discuss virtual cinematography, different approaches to virtual production, and the role of motion capture as a tool for interactive scene-blocking and shot selection. The seminar will include both practical demonstrations and audience participation.
