Bert Dunk
A native of Saskatchewan, Bert Dunk is recognized as one of Canada’s premiere cinematographers. Formally trained in New York City at the Germain School of Photography, his career has spanned about 30 years. Well known for his Hawaiian shirts, Bert has shot feature films, television movies, episodic TV and commercials. He has worked for every major US television network as well as major movie studios.
Over his lengthy career, Bert has filmed some of the most prominent Canadian and Hollywood actors including Gordon Pinsent, Angie Dickenson, Holland Taylor, Marg Helgeberger and Heather Locklear and has won multiple Genie Awards for his work. A member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers, Bert is a three-time winner of their annual achievement award. Meanwhile, he has the distinction of being the first Canadian ever to be invited to the American Society Cinematographers. Before coming to SIRT, his most recent work involved being a Director of Photography on the feature film Dr. Doolittle: Million Dollar Mutts.
