2011 Annual General Meeting

Susan Annis is Executive Director of the Cultural Human Resources Council, a national not-for-profit arts organization/sector council with a mandate to address HR issues in the cultural sector. In this capacity, she has overseen many projects designed to strengthen the cultural labour force through training and HR management in cultural industries and arts disciplines across the country.

Under her leadership, CHRC has undertaken groundbreaking initiatives such as the adoption of Fast Forward, a national training strategy for the film and television industry, and the creation of a National Training Advisory Council for Screen-based Media.

 Prior to her work at CHRC, Susan served as Associate Director for the Canadian Conference of the Arts (CCA) for nine years, dealing with cultural issues such as copyright, status of the artist, arts awareness, arts funding, tax incentives, culture and foreign affairs, culture and international trade, and policy development in new media, film and broadcasting.
