As [the 2010] winner of the Astral Media WIFT mentorship, I was able to attend The International Television Festival at Banff with confidence in my pitch and the support of veteran festival participants.
This was an extremely rewarding trip because I was able to meet with broadcasters from Corus Kids, Disney Channels Worldwide and Teletoon, to name a few. But the most important thing… was the feedback that I received from people in the industry and the face-time spent with them… It was very refreshing to sit with someone who could offer me their first impressions and unbiased opinions.
Now that the Banff Television Festival is combined with the Next Media Festival, I was able to attend panels that discussed the current trends in new media and transmedia productions. The digital age is upon us.
