Elke Town
Elke Town has over twenty years experience in film, television and print media. She has developed, financed, written and produced for film and television; worked as a broadcast executive; and headed the creative affairs department of Telefilm Canada. She has been story editor on numerous feature film projects and worked contractually for Telefilm Canada, the Canadian Film Centre, the Ontario Media Development Corporation, the Toronto International Film Festival and Astral Media’s Harold Greenberg FUND (Foundation to Underwrite New Drama).
Elke has taught advanced screenwriting for Humber College School of Media Studies & Information Technology and has instructed feature film screenwriting workshops for Women in Film & Television – Toronto, Reel Asian International Film Festival and imagineNATIVE Film Festival. She also works with the National Screen Institute as a mentor and story editor for Telefilm’s Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program.
In 2006 Elke founded Storyworks, a company that works with screenwriters to build better stories.
