In this short dramatic musical, the daughter of Don Giovanni looses her mother. Shortly after, Don Giovanni gets remarried to a young bride, although his daughter and some of the neighbors oppose the marriage. They have a big wedding party in their garden. The daughter fears that she will loose her father and any claims to the estate. The fight with her father leads to a tragic end.

Sibel Guvenc’s award winning short films Hungarian Salami, In the Penal Colony, Palette, and Stigma screened at international film festivals and markets around the world. Sibel wrote, directed, and produced Secrets, a Bravo!FACT funded music film for Maryem Tollar’s 2009 Juno Awards nominated album “Cairo to Toronto.” Sibel also received a Bravo!FACT award for The Almond Sorters, a short musical from Michael Occhipinti’s 2009 Juno Awards nominated album “The Sicilian Jazz Project.”

The Almond Sorters also received a Platinum Award for Best Jazz Film at Worldfest Houston International Film Festival and was broadcast on Bravo!Canada, CBC, CityTV, and Ragusani nel Mondo in Italy. Sibel was selected for several programs in Canada, including the TIFF Talent Lab and Women in the Director’s Chair workshop. Sibel is currently developing her feature films Eyes of Dreams, a psychological drama, and Broken Eggs, a sci-fi.
