Kim Derko

Kim Derko c.s.c. is a graduate of Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design.

A full member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers and IATSE 667, Ms. Derko garnered a Gemini win for photography of Youkali Hotel 2004, and won Best Cinematography for A Winter Tale at the Zuma Film Festival 2006.

She has photographed feature films for Rodman Flender,The Nature of the Beast, John Greyson, The Law of Enclosures, Su Rynard, Kardia, Frances Anne Solomon, A Winter Tale, and Keoni Waxman, The Highwayman. In addition, she recently was second unit Director of Photography for television movies The Robber Bride and The Good Times are Killing Me, and the BBC mini series The State Within.

Ms. Derko has also shot numerous art projects for notable Canadian artists Janet Cardiff & George Miller, “The Paradise Institute,” and Stan Douglas, “Nutka,” to name a few. She recently completed a short film, Coronation Park,  in collaboration with Su Rynard for the TUFF.

Ms. Derko has just wrapped the television series Angel on Campus and is currently shooting second unit photography on Murdoch Mysteries and The Border.
