Congratulations to the 2011 recipient, Marla Black!

WIFT-T is pleased to announce Marla Black as the winner of the 2011 Deluxe Producer Internship. Marla co-wrote and is producing her first feature film, Mary, a comedy about Immaculate Conception that is being executive produced by Christopher Zimmer (New Waterford Girl, The River King, Partition). She also has two other projects currently in development. Read more.

Marla will receive a special presentation at the WIFT-T Reception at TIFF, taking place September 14 at Pinewood Toronto Studios. The internship will commence in November.

The Deluxe Producer Internship provides one emerging Canadian female producer with invaluable hands-on postproduction training. The successful applicant joins Deluxe Postproduction—at their world-class facility in downtown Toronto—for a three-week internship to learn about production equipment planning and requirements and postproduction video, film and sound.

Eligibility

Canadian Citizen, Landed Immigrant or Permanent Resident
WIFT-T member in good standing (may join at time of application)
Emerging Canadian female producer with at least two, but less than five, years of experience
Able to participate in all internship activities
Able to complete final report within two weeks of internship completion

Application Process

Applications for the Deluxe Producer Internship open each year in spring.

Applications are reviewed by a selection committee of WIFT-T staff and industry representatives. The winner is announced in August and honoured with a presentation at the WIFT-T Reception at TIFF in September.
