WIFT International Short Film Showcase

The WIFT International Short Film Showcase is an initiative of Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI) and features screenings from across the WIFTI network with 20 cities worldwide participating.

Join Women in Film & Television – Toronto (WIFT-T) for the fourth annual WIFT International Short Film Showcase, taking place on March 10, 2009. The showcase features award-winning international short films from female filmmakers as well as a local selection, Tomorrow, by filmmaker and WIFT-T award winner, Michelle Latimer. Michelle won the 2008 Astral Media Mentorship Award. The evening also includes an in-depth conversation with Michelle,followed by a networking reception. The WIFT International Short Film Showcase is presentd in partnership with Deluxe.

The audition room is a minefield for three Asian actresses who are expected to be Asian in ways they are not completely comfortable with.  When the humiliations mount, they transcend their rivalry in one gleeful act of solidarity, empowering themselves with the very stereotype that they’ve been subjected to.
